Sargent

The Central Nebraska Housing and Economic Developers have built a new, affordable home to meet a workforce demand for families who live in the City of Sargent.  CNHED is utilizing new State of Nebraska grant funds to jump start new construction in the City of Sargent.  Down payment assistance funds will be available for new homeowners.  For information about purchasing this new home in Sargent, please call Judy Petersen at 402-340-0106.

Ord

The City of Ord has dreamed for 30 years about building a new housing subdivision on their scenic Rolling Hills site.  Now, their dream is coming true with a 38 unit subdivision currently underway.  This new subdivision is truly a parternership between the City of Ord, local investors, NIFA, Mesner Development, and the State of Nebraska.  When completed, this subdivision will include 26 single family units and 12 senior rental units, plus attractive green space.  New homes are currently being built.

Bassett

The City of Bassett built a new, affordable home to meet a workforce demand for families who live in the community or are interested in relocating to Bassett.  Bassett is utilizing existing housing revolving loan funds, along with new State of Nebraska grant funds to jump start new construction in the community.  Down payment assistance funds were available for new homeowners.

 

 

 

 

Burwell

The city of Burwell has a critical need for additional housing, having identified a shortage of quality, affordable homes for job recruits in the area.  Burwell built one new, affordable home, and will utilize proceeds of the sale of that home to provide down payment assistance to qualified homebuyers in Burwell.  Down payment assistance funds were available for new homeowners.

 

 

 

O’Neill

The city of O’Neill created a new 19-unit subdivision, which included infrastructure construction, housing construction, and a small playground area.  Currently, 2 model homes have been sold with down payment assistance provided, 11 rent-to-own homes are occupied, and 6 lots remain for future construction.  Partners for this project included the City of O’Neill, NIFA, local contributors, Midwest Housing Developers Foundation, Fannie Mae, Excel Development Group, and the State of Nebraska.
